1973: Started martial arts studies at Diaz Kenpo Karate under Grand Master Jimmy Diaz in birth town Ameca Jalisco Mexico

1980: Continued martial arts studies at Song Long Miu under The O’bosan Charles Song (aka Owen Watson) in So. Lake Tahoe California USA

1980 to 1985: won multiple grand championships within the martial arts tournament circuit in both point fighting and traditional forms

1985: Started fighting amateur Boxing and Kickboxing

1985: Earned Black Belts in Song Long Miu under The O’bosan Charles Song (aka Owen Watson) in So. Lake Tahoe and Okinawan Kenpo under Grand Master Jimmy Diaz in Modesto California

1986: Turned Professional in Kickboxing and opened the first ever Torres MMA Sport facility in Rounhill Nevada

1987 to 1990: Continued fighting professionally and teaching the martial arts under the watchful eyes of older brother Master Alejandro Torres, The O’bosan Charles Song (aka Owen Watson and Grand Master Jimmy Diaz

1987 to 1990: K.I.C.K. light welterweight California State champion, K.I.C.K. Light welterweight Nevada state champion, W.K.A. US champion, K.I.C.K. No. American Champion

1990: Moved to Rohnert Park California to study Chinese Kenpo and  further improve my Kickboxing skills under Grand Master Herb Cody Sr.

1991 to 1999: W.K.A. lightweight world title, I.K.K.C. lightweight world title, D.R.A.K.A. lightweight world title, I.K.F. light welterweight world title, P.K.A. Light Welterweight world title, P.K.C. Lightweight world title. Started Boxing professionally in between Kickboxing fights in 1994

2000: Retired from fighting after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage just minutes before stepping into the ring for a W.B.C. elimination bout with number one contender at the time Cesar Bazan.

2000 to Present: Continues studying and teaching martial arts – wrote own autobiography titled ” Memoirs Of A Modern Day Gladiator”- Starred in Las Vegas Vietnam The Movie alongside Eric Roberts, Tina Le, Branscombe Richmond and Lorenzo Lamas. 

Was inducted into the Martial Arts Hall Of Fame and The Lake Tahoe Walk Of Fame- Promoted to Rukudan (Master’s degree black belt) by Grand Master Wayne Lacno
